I create echoes, embodied characters, and temples, sites of connection, drawn from timelines that never fully existed where history meets speculation.
Echo Wang (they/he), also known in drag as Naza Løtus, is a Taiwanese transdisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam. Their work weaves together ritual, drag, ecology, and technologies to explore how stories and identities are formed across migration. Echo treats both land and digital systems as living archives. Technology becomes a form of contemporary folklore-making, while ecological processes including soil, plants, insect intelligence, and adaptive living systems offer metaphors for sensing, survival, and resilience.
Working through deep research and site-responsive storytelling, Echo creates installations that are activated through their drag persona Naza Løtus, a mythic medium who bridges embodied ritual and coded memory, the digital, cultural, and bodily inscriptions through which histories are carried. Across performance, installation, audiovisual work, and narrative practice, Echo examines how complex systems including colonial histories, migrant memories, ecological intelligence, and technological speculation can be reassembled into new forms of belonging and speculative cosmologies.
